“The Great Unknown” is the bands 5th studio album and the fact that they remained unknowns early in their career in their homeland plus really gathering underground popularity in countries like the UK remained a mystery. I mean it takes time to get music notice but these guys are skilled musicians which surprises me why their sound didn’t get picked up earlier

The youthful exuberant energy in ” Beautiful Goodbye” stands out as what the rest of the record has to offer. Influences here ring some token to bands like Matchbox Twenty or early Goo Goo Dolls with a touch of soft rock AOR

The first notable difference is that this album feels a little more serious than the TRELLEBORG one. Where that one was colorful and fun in places, DANCE OF DRUIDS is dark, angry and a lot more sinister. There is still a thick layer of Symphonic style metal to be found, but the death and black metal elements are the predominant sounds that you will hear.

I’m not quite sure how or when I stumbled upon the myspage page for Italian power metallers WINDROW, but I do remember being very impressed and surprised that they weren’t signed yet. After a little bit of a discussion the band sent me a copy of their latest album DANGEROUS GAME for review.

I’ve never tried to make anybody believe that I am a big fan of Folk Metal, Viking Metal or any of this styles sub-genres, and I certainly don’t proclaim to be overly knowledgeable about it either. But I do know what I like, and I feel I have a decent enough hold on the style to be able to properly review this new album from TRELLEBORG.

This is a very cool release from Vindicator because is their sophomore release and has the band now outright playing a more direct thrash sound that resonates in the heavy bottom plowing bass and rhythm section. Their self title debut in 2008 got them on the road and opening for such acts as Overkill, Raven, M.O.D., Hirax, Exodus, Kreator amongst others.
